Working in TM is my 1st job after graduated. I'm started my journey in TM after i've got On Job Training (OJT) under GEMS (Graduate Employability Management Schemes) under Khazanah Nasional. I was assigned to the Credit Management Department
in CSM (now CxM). The main job responsibility is to perform a collection from the
customer who is having credit amount. The main tasks mostly done using the
systems provided such as WebBrains & Cares. Despite having a challenge
using the system, I am able to manage to learn and handle the task given. The
task had helped me to become more focus and vigilant. In TM, we have embedded
with KRISTAL and COOL values, from what I found very inspiring and feels that I am accepted
as a part of TM.
Alhamdulillah, a month before my OJT ended, I was called for an
interview from TM. Two weeks after that, I was offered to work in TM. My job was
very different from my background of studies. At CSOC, we were responsible to
entertain data network fault for TM enterprise customers, companies like Proton,
Giant etc. My main task would be entertaining customer network connections
complaints while performing inter-department coordination’s between field
teams, network teams and logical teams.

I still remember, first day on the job as I had been introduce to the team,
they ask ‘Macam mana boleh kat sini?’ because my background study is different. They quite curious. I just said to them ‘Tak tahu lah.. HR yang assign kat sini’.. At that time I thought, I need to learn as much as I can in this new
field and gain a lot more experience. The best part of being in this department
would be the working environment, we were given chances to grow everyday by
learning new things, new knowledge and also gaining new friends from all over
TM.
Our departments head never failed to give us chances to grow beyond our
main task. I was assigned other task as well, such as being a Master Trainer
for newly develop system where I would be able to interact between TM vendor
and TM personnel from departments all over TM. I am also assigned as one of the
internal trainer to train new employees in my department; this is also a huge
learning experience for as I would see the difference perspective from a fresh
eye of how our process would work better. And I must have said, until today, I
have learned a lot of what TM is about from this experience and I plan to
continue learning. I am forever grateful to my manager’s, colleagues and
friends for the experiences that I learned and gained during my assignment in
this department.

The
will to learn new things, new knowledge, new experience is the most important
when you are starting a new job, new tasks. The ability to adapt to environment
is also important for the growth of an individual. Be positive! My main motto
for everyday life, I may not commit it always but it’s what I thrive to achieve
when I woke up every day before going to work.
And last but not least, Enjoy every moment of it whether the good, the
bad or the worse because in the end, we will learn a lost from the worst and we
will cherish the best part of the experience.
